Staying stressed · Sustained overload
Field survey Association
Even productive pressure was tiring
Among 696 learners, challenge-related stress was positively related to learning performance and hindrance-related stress negatively, yet both kinds of stress were positively related to exhaustion, as found using a field survey with mediation analysis.
Details
- Who was studied
- 696 learners
- Observation window
- One course
- What was measured
- Challenge and hindrance stress, exhaustion, motivation, grades
- What this establishes
- An association, not cause and effect
Limits: Correlational, from one setting.
What it does not show: This establishes that performing well under pressure can go with exhaustion, but not which one causes the other.
Relationship to Calmistry
