What Calmistry is
Calmistry is a self-understanding service: a set of quizzes based on existing literature and a hunch about how stress tends to behave on you. You answer short quizzes and get a description of what bounces off, what sinks in, what goes straight out, how you recover, and practices that may suit you. It draws on published research in stress physiology, emotion science and cognitive psychology, and on an idea of ours that hasn't been settled either way: that birth timing might add something on top. See Why we built this.
Today Calmistry offers stress-response assessments, and nothing on it is based on astrological charts. If you save a profile, later assessments in the areas listed in the Privacy Policy may use what you saved, including your birth details; we will tell you before any such feature uses your data, and you can switch it off.
Your result describes patterns in your answers. It is a starting point for reflection, not a fact about who you are, and it says nothing certain about your future. Using Calmistry, and giving us any data beyond what showing you a result needs, is voluntary, and we never sell your data.
Not medical or psychological advice, not a crisis service
If something feels heavy, talk to someone you trust or a doctor. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
- Calmistry is not a diagnostic tool: not a medical or psychological diagnosis, assessment or treatment, and it doesn't replace a doctor, therapist or counsellor.
- Calmistry is not medical, psychological, financial, legal or strategic advice of any kind. Practices we suggest are general wellbeing ideas, nothing more.
- Calmistry's insights are exploratory: not predictions, not guarantees, and not a basis for important decisions about your health, relationships, work or money.
- Calmistry's measures and model are still being tested. We don't claim they are clinically or scientifically validated.
- Stop any practice that makes you feel worse, and check with a doctor before trying something if you have a health condition.
- Calmistry is not a crisis service: it is not monitored in real time and can't respond to emergencies.
Who can use Calmistry
You must be 18 or older and able to agree to these terms under the law where you live. If you are under 18, please don’t use Calmistry. We may delete data or close access where we learn a user is under 18.
Your account and device
You can use Calmistry without an account; your progress is tied to your device. If you sign in (with Google or an email code, through our sign-in provider Clerk), keep access to that email address secure. You are responsible for what happens through your account and device, and should tell us through the contact form if you think someone else has used them.
You can delete your account anytime in Me → Settings. See the Privacy Policy for what that deletes.
Your Calmistry profile and permissions
You can keep a Calmistry profile for as long as you want it. Three separate permissions decide what happens with your data beyond showing you a result: Save my profile, Help improve the assessments and Birth-timing research. Each is off until you switch it on, each can be switched off on its own in Me → Your Calmistry profile, and saying no to the second or third never limits the first or anything else. What each covers is set out in the Privacy Policy.
When you submit birth details, you tick a box accepting these terms and the Privacy Policy in their current versions, and the permission described there. With the research or improvement permission, what you share may be used for research into stress, psychology, health and wellbeing, relationships, and astrology. Nothing is saved without that tick, and you confirm the details are your own and that you are 18 or older.
If you don't visit or sign in for 3 years, we may delete your profile after asking, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Acceptable use
Please use Calmistry for what it is for. You agree not to:
- Send invites to people who don’t want them, send them in bulk, or use invites or Boxes to harass, shame or pressure anyone.
- Give a Box, nickname or first name that is abusive, hateful, sexual, or that reveals someone else’s private information.
- Enter another person's birth details or private information without their agreement, or use labels in your circles to harass or shame anyone.
- Pretend to be someone else, or take quizzes on someone else’s behalf without their agreement.
- Scrape, crawl or copy Calmistry’s content or results in bulk, or use bots or scripts to submit answers.
- Probe, test or reverse-engineer how results are calculated, for example by submitting answers systematically to map the scoring.
- Get around rate limits, security or access controls, or interfere with how Calmistry runs.
- Use Calmistry, or its results, to make decisions about other people, such as hiring, admissions, lending or insurance.
- Break any law while using Calmistry.
We may remove content, pause invites, or suspend or end access if these rules are broken, and will tell you why where we reasonably can.
What you add
Some things you type are yours: Box names, invite nicknames, circles labels, first names you share in a Box, and your if-then plans. You keep any rights you have in them. You give Think North Consultancy permission to store and show them only as needed to run the features you use: a nickname or circles label is shown only to you, a Box name and first name only to that Box's members.
Share links show a result card to anyone who has the link. Only share what you are happy for others to see.
Invites, Boxes and your circles
When you invite someone, you choose how: your own message (for example on WhatsApp) or one email we send for you. Only invite people you know who would reasonably expect to hear from you. People you invite decide for themselves whether to take part and whether you see their progress.
A Box shows a group read-out once at least three members have finished; a Box of two opens as a side-by-side comparison once both have finished. Each member sees it only after finishing the quiz themselves. It never shows anyone’s answers or scores. You can leave a Box at any time.
Your circles show the people you are connected with, labelled in your own words. You see someone's material only where they chose to share it with you. Adding someone to a Box sends them a link; they join only if they agree.
Research participation
After your result, you may be invited to help with Think North Consultancy's research into stress, psychology, health and wellbeing, relationships, and astrology, including birth timing, by sharing your birth details and answering a few more questions. It is voluntary: optional, never needed to use Calmistry, and you can withdraw anytime in Me → Research and your birth details. What we collect, how we protect it and what withdrawal deletes are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Research data is kept unless you ask us to delete it (withdraw), or Think North Consultancy decides to purge, stop or refresh the research or its data; it is not deleted by the profile inactivity review. If we start a further study, we will invite you again and you decide whether to opt in; nothing is used for a new study without that choice.
Taking part in the research does not, today, give you any reading, forecast or personal astrological output. Findings, if any, are shared in aggregate, and by email only with people who ask for them.
Our content and scoring
Calmistry’s questions, results text, illustrations, design, software and scoring methods belong to Think North Consultancy or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. You may use Calmistry for your own personal, non-commercial use and share your own results. You may not copy, republish, sell or build a competing product from our content or scoring, or use them to train software, without our written permission.
The Mini-IPIP personality questions used in the research are in the public domain and remain so.
Changes to Calmistry
Calmistry is offered as it is today, free of charge, and may change. We may add, change or remove features, or pause or end the service. If we plan to end it, we will give reasonable notice on the site and a way to delete your data.
Disclaimers
Calmistry is provided free of charge, as is and as available, with no warranties or guarantees of any kind, express or implied, including about accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
Calmistry does not provide any professional service: it is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice, and not a diagnostic tool. It is a set of quizzes based on existing literature and a hunch, and its insights are exploratory. We don't promise that results will be accurate for every person, that any insight will turn out to be right, or that any practice will help you. Calmistry is not a crisis service (see above).
Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
Limits on our liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Think North Consultancy's liability to you, for any claim of any kind arising from or related to Calmistry, is nil: its maximum aggregate liability is INR 0 (zero). Calmistry is free; this reflects that.
If you are unhappy with Calmistry, or with how we handled your data, what we offer is to delete your data: ask in Me, Settings, or through the contact form. You can also stop using Calmistry at any time.
Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude (for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).
If you break these terms and that causes a claim against Think North Consultancy, you agree to cover the reasonable losses it causes us, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction.
Please write through the contact form first: most problems can be solved that way. Any dispute that isn’t goes to arbitration, seated in Mumbai, India; the courts at Mumbai alone hear matters relating to that arbitration, such as appointing an arbitrator or challenging an award.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the version and effective date at the top. For changes that matter, we tell you on the site before they apply, and returning visitors see a short notice. If you keep using Calmistry after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can stop using it and delete your account.
If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Think North Consultancy about Calmistry.
Questions, requests or concerns
Write through the contact form. We reply within 7 days and finish within 30 days. For any concern, the one thing we offer to put it right is deleting your data -- any time, in Settings or through the contact form.
